Donation of a bench style seat for Cornwallis Court
alt alt alt

At the May coffee morning at Cornwallis Court the District Grand Prefect, R W Bro. Tom Auber accompanied by the Deputy District Grand Prefect, W Bro. Chris Bowles and other members of the District assembled to present an oak bench to the Friends in recognition of the services rendered by Rt W Bro. Paul Norman to the District of East Anglia.

Rt W Bro Tom presented the bench to the new ‘house’ manager Mrs. Lynda Whittle, who had only taken up her position a few days earlier.

Rt W Bro Paul retired as DGP in 2010 after 5 years when he was appointed the PGM for Mark Master Mason in East Anglia.  To mark his term as DGP of the Allied Masonic Degrees, the bench, funded by the members of the District, was designed and crafted by Bro. Paul Smith.

The bench bears a representation of the Grid Iron, the symbol of the AMD, and there is a brass plaque on the back of the bench denoting the dedication and also the maker's ‘Mark’

Unfortunately due to his extremely congested Masonic diary Rt W Bro. Paul was unable to attend the May presentation, but a date in June was arranged when he could attend with Rt W Bro. Tom, W Bro. Chris and W Bro. Geoff Keer, District Secretary, for another ‘photo shoot’.
